Garvin was a Police Officer in St Vincent and was recruited into the British Army in 2009 when he was 28. He served as a logistics driver in the army and was based in Oxfordshire. He left the army in order to spend more time with his family. Garvin moved to London and has had a number of jobs as a truck driver and delivery driver. In order to move on from this type of work he did a degree in business management.
“I was recommended to join RFEA’s Forces For London Programme through a contact at the veteran’s hostel I was staying at. The programme has given me help in all sorts of ways from volunteering at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, arranging funding for training courses and creating contacts in the finance industry where I am looking to work.”
Since starting with the programme Garvin has moved into his own flat.
