Martin was in the army for thirty years. He left when a heart problem meant that he could no longer do the activity that he used to do and this led to severe stress and depression.
For a time, Michael was constantly in trouble with the Police and was arrested six times, due to his drinking. RFEA has supported Martin through Project Nova, which is delivered in partnership with Walking With The Wounded. We kept in constant contact with Martin, through regular phone calls and visits. We also organised from him to attend an outdoor motivational course with Future For Heroes which gave Martin an opportunity to develop a different outlook and a break away from home with his wife and two of his three children. Michael hasn’t been in trouble for ages.
